They have gained the tools they need and the skills and courage to use them effectively—and the results are remarkable.”

Amanda Miller, DNP, RN, NEA-BC | Senior Director, Critical Care | Tower Health

“Throughout the last couple of years, we were seeing a lot of turnover. When we were doing exit interviews and figuring out why, I was hearing a lot of words like gossip, bullying, cliques, some of those big words. I knew it was a problem and I knew the culture really needed to be addressed, but I had no idea how to do it. I was only one person. The Eradicating Bullying & Incivility program really helped me drive what I really wanted to do with my culture.”

Jordan Snook, Nurse Manager, Behavioral Health Services | UnityPoint Health

“Human behavior is complex and different approaches are needed to address the root causes of negative behavior in the workplace. Renee educates and provides specific tactics to arm leaders with the tools needed to support a healthy work environment but also to support the leader him/herself.”

Anna Schlatter, Vice President, Patient Care | Baylor Scott & White Medical Center

Lilyan Cohen, Director of Patient Care Services, Division of Critical Care | University Hospital

“Participating in the Eradicating Bullying & Incivility program through the Healthy Workforce Institute has been a transformative experience for our teams. By engaging in the commitment process, we were able to foster deeper connections among team members and create a shared responsibility for maintaining a respectful and supportive work environment. One of the most impactful outcomes has been the launch of our Civility Circle—a safe, ongoing space where participants from the program come together to reflect, share experiences, and apply the tools and strategies we learned from Dr. Renee Thompson and her team. These sessions have empowered us to actively shift our culture, address disruptive behaviors, and reinforce the values of kindness, accountability, and professionalism. Thanks to the Healthy Workforce Institute, we are not just talking about change—we are living it.”

Susan Haddox, DNP, RNC-MNN, NEA-BC | Nursing Director | Texas Health

“Participating in the Eradicating Bullying and Incivility program was truly a wonderful experience in my professional journey. The program not only opened my eyes to the subtle and often overlooked forms of workplace incivility, but also empowered me with the tools to address and prevent it. Through open dialogue, real-world scenarios, and evidence-based strategies, I learned how to foster a culture of respect, empathy, and accountability. Since completing the program, I’ve noticed subtle improvements in team communication, trust, and morale. It reinforced the importance of psychological safety in the workplace, and reminded us all that a respectful environment is essential for both patient care and staff well-being. I’m proud to be part of a hospital that prioritizes dignity and compassion, not just in patient care, but in how we treat one another.”

Lisette Hurtado, MSN, RN, CMSRN | Assistant Vice President of Nursing | Baptist Hospital of Miami

“We have had significant leadership turnover and we wanted to develop the toolkit of our leaders to foster a healthy work culture. The EBI content was perfect for our leaders as it was asynchronous learning allowing our leaders to complete the content when it was best for them. The EBI coaches created a shared accountability with our leaders and the curriculum structure allowed for coaching conversations to happen. While our transformation is just beginning, it has great momentum. We have incorporated Healthy Workforce topics into our leadership meetings to provide a forum to celebrate successes and support leaders who may have challenging situations. This program is innovative, realistic, engaging, and meets leaders where they are at. Simply, an essential tool in every leaders toolkit.”
